Resource of the week: The Editorial Voice

The cover story in the June 1999 issue of Intercom, the Magazine of the Society for Technical Communication (STC), is titled "The Editorial Voice". It's a very good summary of the editor's role and mandate (what an editor should do without querying the author), and particularly how an editor should query an author for information when that is necessary. The article includes a couple of excellent editorial exercises.

For more information about Intercom and the STC, go to http://www.stc.org.
